Status: Full-time, Permanent

Reports to: Finance Manager

Location: Ottawa, Hybrid

Salary range: $60,000-$80,000

Duties and Responsibilities

Working closely with the Finance Department (team of 5) and under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Accountant will serve as the second-in-command, responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including the following:

  • Oversee cash flow and daily cash transactions including reconciling all bank accounts
  • Assist in month end reporting including financial statement preparation, analyzing data, and performing account reconciliations for month-end close.
  • Handle AR collections by following up with clients and collaborating with partners to manage their clients’ ARs.
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly reporting for associates.
  • Assist with payroll review and reporting
  • Act as a key point of contact and mentor for the Finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure team goals are met.
  • Help to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to enhance financial discipline and maturity
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial laws
  • Assist with the billing cycle as required
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation or in progress
  • Full cycle accounting experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a team, and to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset
