Salary range: $85,000-$110,000

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for talented and dedicated operations professionals to join our team! The Finance Manager is a crucial role that contributes to the overall success and financial wellbeing of the organization.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

In collaboration with all members of the Finance Department and under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer (or designate), the Finance Manager performs a wide range of duties, including the following:

Financial Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end financial operations of the firm
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to enhance financial discipline and maturity
  • Establish relationships with external partners including banks, corporate lawyers, and law societies

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of accounting clerks and finance professionals
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development to team members

Strategic Thinking

  • Collaborate with partners and senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the firm’s goals and objectives
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making

Process Enhancement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department
  • Implement best practices to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in financial processes

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial laws
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities

Learning and Innovation

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in finance
  • Encourage a culture of curiosity and exploration within the finance team to discover new ways of working


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or other)
  • Proven experience in financial management with progressive financial responsibility, preferably within a professional services industry
  • Full cycle accounting experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and enhance financial maturity
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset
