Emond Harnden is proud to announce the creation of the Emond Harnden LLP/ S.R.L Entrance Scholarship. This $4,000 scholarship will support an Indigenous student admitted to the JD Program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section at the University of Ottawa, who has demonstrated an interest in pursuing labour and employment law.
Through our work with Indigenous clients and communities, we have seen firsthand the need for greater representation of Indigenous legal professionals in this field. By establishing this scholarship, we hope to support the next generation of Indigenous lawyers who will bring invaluable perspectives and expertise to the practice of labour and employment law.
“The creation of this scholarship represents a meaningful step towards addressing the underrepresentation of Indigenous individuals in labour and employment law. With this scholarship, we aim to foster a more equitable and inclusive legal profession.” – Mélissa Lacroix, Lawyer, Emond Harnden
At Emond Harnden, we believe that strengthening diversity within the legal profession benefits not only those entering the field but also the clients and communities they serve.
“By investing in Indigenous law students, we are investing in a future where the legal profession better reflects the diverse voices and experiences that shape our society.” Kecia Podetz, Lawyer, Emond Harnden
