Erica completed her undergraduate degree from Queens University and her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She has spent her entire legal career at Emond Harnden LLP, starting as a legal summer student in 2011 and is now a partner at the firm. With over a decade of experience practicing exclusively management side labour and employment law to draw upon, she excels in providing strategic guidance and tailored support to her clients.
Erica routinely advises employers on broad range of employment and labour law issues. She has represented employers in human rights proceedings, employment standards complaints, labour board matters, grievance arbitration, and in the defence of wrongful dismissal claims. Erica also has extensive experience providing advice with respect to workplace investigations, employment contracts and policies, and assisting unionized clients with collective bargaining. Erica understands the unique needs of employers of all sizes, from small businesses to large institutional organizations. She is particularly experienced in providing advice and representation to both unionized and non-unionized employers in the community services, dental practice, and hotel and hospitality industries.
Erica enjoys sharing her knowledge with large groups. She provides tailored training seminars to clients on a variety of topics and has been invited to speak at employment and labour law conferences.
While at Queen’s University, Erica played on the varsity women’s ice hockey team, and continued to play recreationally at law school on the Osgoode men’s team. Erica proudly leads the Emond Harnden ice hockey team in its ongoing efforts to support local charities.
