At Emond Harnden, students learn by doing. You’ll work alongside our lawyers at arbitrations, collective bargaining, mediations, and examinations. You’ll attend client and witness meetings and contribute to litigation and bargaining strategy. From drafting pleadings to preparing complex legal opinions, you’ll gain hands-on experience that builds your confidence and skills.

Here’s what you can expect:
The formal application process for the 2024-2025 articling student position is now closed.
Mentorship: You will be assigned an associate mentor to guide you through your articles.
Professional Development: Ongoing training and opportunities to build your legal expertise.
Competitive Compensation:
Total annual salary: $62,000, prorated over the articling period.
$6,000 bonus (half will be paid at the first pay period of the articling phase and the remaining will be paid at its conclusion).
Full tuition coverage for the Law Society of Ontario licensing process.
Paid parking or bus pass.
Three weeks of paid vacation.
Wellness expense reimbursement up to $500.
Five days of paid sick leave.

Emond Harnden is searching for graduates with a strong record of academic success. The firm also requires students who are articulate, energetic and capable of working within a collegial and respectful office environment. A demonstrated interest or background in labour or employment law or industrial relations – though not absolutely necessary – is an asset for students who apply to our firm.
