Work at Emond Harnden

Despite having appeared before courts and tribunals as a litigator for a number of years, I have always been most passionate about legal research and written advocacy. Since joining EH as a Research Lawyer, I have found it incredibly fulfilling and rewarding to be able to contribute to the work of top legal professionals in a manner that allows me to not only apply but also hone my particular skillset. Plus, the supportive team environment at the firm means that maintaining a healthy work-life balance is a reality, and not just an ideal!

Moving from the full practice of law to the role of Research Lawyer has allowed me to play to my particular strengths and interests and, even more importantly, lets me truly enjoy my career. The ability to focus on the research and development of materials that serve not only my individual colleagues, but also the firm as a whole, has been a unique and rewarding experience. To do so within a firm that has the resources of a much larger firm but the feel of a smaller one is icing on the cake.

Intrinsically, I am someone who constantly needs to be contributing to change and improvement in a professional environment. I simply can’t do the day-to-day. Working at Emond Harnden for the past two years has been the perfect place for me to not only grow in my role specifically, but has also allowed me to be an active participant in the overall success of the firm. Bureaucratic hierarchy simply doesn’t exist here; your team is always open to progressive ideas and willing to offer support wherever needed.
