Associate

Veronica joined Emond Harnden as an Associate following her practice in general litigation at a regional law firm in Ottawa. She advises employers across the public, private, and non-profit sectors on all aspects of labour and employment law, including employment standards, performance management, occupational health and safety, and human rights issues such as accommodations, harassment, and discrimination. 

Veronica also supports employers in labour relations matters, including grievance handling and collective bargaining. She has experience preparing for proceedings before various tribunals, civil courts, and arbitration hearings. 

Veronica does pro-bono work for Capital Rainbow Refuge, sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of LGBTQ+ Lawyers (CALL), and is a member of the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA), the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers (CACE), and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA). 

Veronica speaks fluent Spanish. 

Verónica se incorporó a Emond Harnden como Asociada tras haber ejercido en el área de litigios generales en un bufete regional en Ottawa. Asesora a empleadores de los sectores público, privado y sin fines de lucro en todos los aspectos del derecho laboral y del empleo, incluyendo normas laborales, gestión del desempeño, salud y seguridad ocupacional, y cuestiones de derechos humanos, como adaptaciones, acoso y discriminación. 

Verónica también brinda apoyo en asuntos de relaciones laborales con sindicatos, incluyendo la gestión de quejas y la negociación colectiva. Cuenta con experiencia en la preparación de casos ante diversos tribunales, acciones civiles y audiencias de arbitraje. 

Verónica realiza trabajo pro bono para Capital Rainbow Refuge, forma parte de la Junta Directiva de la Asociación Canadiense de Abogados LGBTQ+ (CALL), y es miembro de la Asociación Canadiense de Abogados Hispanos (CHBA), la Asociación Canadiense de Asesores Legales de Empleadores (CACE) y la Asociación de Abogados de Ontario (OBA). 

Veronica graduated from the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law program in 2020. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and Master of Arts, both in Sociology, at the University of Waterloo in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Veronica was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021.

Veronica is a member of the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association, the Canadian Association of LGBTQ+ Lawyers, the Women’s Law Association of Ontario, the County of Carleton Law Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
