An overview of the union certification process and key employer obligations under Part I of the Canada Labour Code. This session will cover unfair labour practices, employer rights and responsibilities during certification, and termination during the certification process.
Preparing for Collective Bargaining
August 11 | 12:00pm – 1:00pm ET
Effective collective bargaining begins well before negotiations start. This session will focus on how employers can prepare strategically, including gathering intelligence, identifying priorities, selecting the right bargaining team, and developing a clear negotiation strategy to set the stage for productive discussions.
Administering the Collective Agreement
December 1 | 12:00pm – 1:00pm ET
So you have a collective agreement. Now what? This session will cover key considerations around working with the union, managing unionized employees, accommodation in a unionized workplace, and how to leverage positive labour relations to ensure the success of your organization.
