Job Summary

Are you passionate about driving growth and shaping the future of a growing law firm? As the Marketing and Business Development Manager, you will be at the heart of our firm’s business evolution, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. You will spearhead innovative brand strategies, develop and nurture business opportunities, manage our sponsorship program, and lead marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Brand Strategy and Execution

  • Evolve and Innovate: Evolve our brand to reflect market changes and company growth.
  • Digital Expertise: Craft and implement digital marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with our corporate business goals.
  • Social Media Savvy: Enhance our presence on social media with engaging content and impactful digital tools.
  • Advertising Excellence: Oversee the planning, creation, and execution of corporate advertising.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all platforms.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making insightful, data-driven adjustments.
  • Industry Leadership: Be a thought leader and advocate for the latest industry trends and best practices.
  • Creative Communication: Design newsletters, develop templates, and manage distributions via Mailchimp.
  • Digital Content: Maintain and update the Firm’s website and corporate intranet.

Business Development

  • Strategic Growth: Continuously refine and optimize business development strategies and methodologies.
  • Opportunity Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Sector Focus: Coordinate and manage sector-specific initiatives to drive targeted growth.
  • Custom Marketing: Create and distribute tailored marketing toolkits for various industry sectors.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in targeted sectors.
  • Innovative Solutions: Provide actionable recommendations on technology solutions to enhance operational and business development efficiency.
  • Industry Presence: Represent the firm at conferences and networking events to stay informed and connected.
  • Content Creation: Lead the development of branded content for social media,presentations, videos, and webinars.
  • External Communication: Drive the creation of digital and print materials to support the Firm’s services and lawyers.

Sponsorship & Event Coordination

  • Sponsorship Strategy: Develop and implement sponsorship strategies to maximize brand visibility and engagement.
  • Sponsorship Execution: Coordinate internally and with event organizers to ensure firm participation and presence.
  • Event Marketing: Lead internal and external marketing for client events, conferences, and webinars.
  • Logistical Expertise: Manage event logistics, including vendor coordination, venue selection, and guest lists.
  • Event Execution: Plan and execute memorable internal and client events that reflect our brand and values.
  • Creative Collaboration: Design and create promotional materials for events and sponsorships.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in communication, marketing, and business development, preferably in legal or professional services.
  • Bilingualism required with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability for projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines while managing competing priorities.
  • Thorough attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and offer recommendations on business issues.
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress, MailChimp, Google SEO/SEM, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
